Created modular metal furniture for a ceramic studio, addressing photography, fair display, and visual merchandising needs.
Year: 2022
It's a project from the degree in Design and Creative Technologies where I decided not to stick to the type of fictitious projects we used to do, but rather to seek out a real company to help.
The first step was to conduct a thorough interview with the company. It's an experimental ceramic studio located in Ruzafa, Valencia. Raquel and Pedro, the couple running it, told me all about their company, and from there, it was up to me to come up with a specific solution.
I identified several needs:
- They didn't have a studio for photographing their products.
- They lacked a significant stage setup for the design fairs they attended.
- They needed to enhance their visual merchandising, but their collections varied a lot, thus requiring versatile and adaptable staging.
What did we come up with?
I designed a modular metal furniture piece to fulfill all these tasks, easily dismountable and adjustable, intended to be highly versatile and aligned with the concepts they work with.
